Anglo-American War Sir William Edward Parry FRS (19 December 1790 – 8 July 1855) was an Anglo-Welsh explorer of the Arctic who was known for his 1819 expedition through the Parry Channel, probably the most successful in the long quest for the Northwest Passage. He went to London to seek his fortune. Perry played college football for Clemson University, and was recognized as an All-American. Parry was apprenticed to John Fisher of Chester, who had some legal knowledge in law; he attended a grammar school, and made attempts to escape from his master.
