Around the time of the album’s release, Golden Earring toured the States with opening acts that would become huge rock bands only a few years later (Aerosmith and KISS). The effects of the psych-rock come alive on their fantastic 19 minutes version of The Byrds classics "Eight Miles High". Golden Earring is one of the first bands I,ve come across since my musical journey begun, is more then 20 years since now, GE remanin a constant band in my CD player. Outside of The Netherlands they are best known for their U.S. hits, Radar Love (1973, a U.S. hit in 1974) and Twilight Zone (1982, a U.S. hit in 1983). Golden Earring is the best known and internationally most succesful rock band to come out of the Netherlands. The line-up of the Earring at that time was Barry Hay, George Kooymans, Rinus Gerritsen and Cesar Zuiderwijk, with special guests Eelco Gelling (slide guitar), Bertus Borgers (saxophone) and Patricia Paay (“lady vocal”) on this particular LP.
